Surveillance Camera

Drummond Communications offers the latest in CCTV surveillance technology — everything from high-resolution analog cameras and DVRs to state-of-the-art IP/NVR systems. Or maybe you have an existing camera system that you need to upgrade? We offer NVR/DVR hybrid systems that will incorporate your existing analog cameras, but you can also add new IP cameras to areas that may need extra protection.

Our competitive pricing makes us the obvious choice. Why buy inferior equipment from your local big-box store when you can get high-quality equipment that's custom tailored to fit your needs and have it professionally installed, all at a very reasonable price? We also offer continued service and support for our systems, which you won't receive with a do-it-yourself system.

All of our systems feature remote view on your smartphone, PC, or tablet. The cameras come standard with night-vision and motion detection. Our PTZ cameras also give you the ability to rotate, adjust, and zoom in the camera up to 27X right from your smartphone or laptop computer. You can monitor your premises from anywhere in the world over the internet.

Structured Cabling Low Voltage Cabling

Drummond Communications provides all of your low-voltage wiring needs for both new construction and existing structures. We specialize in Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, RG59, RG6, and 14AWG2 wiring. We also offer plenum and non-plenum options.

Our highly skilled, professional technicians take great pride in their work, and our installations are second-to-none. We ensure very clean and organized wiring, with everything properly labeled and bound neatly and tightly. Not sure what type of cabling is best for your particular installation? We would be happy to help.

What's the difference between Cat5e and Cat6a?

Cat5e has been the industry standard for many years and is still a viable option today. Cat5e is rated for 1000 Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet) up to 100 meters. Cat6a cables provide lower crosstalk, a higher signal-to-noise ratio, and are suitable for 10GBASE-T (10-Gigabit Ethernet). However, most network equipment currently in use in SMBs only supports up to 1-Gbps speeds. So, upgrading your wiring without upgrading your network infrastructure would not result in a noticeable speed difference.

As a means of future-proofing your network, Cat6a is a good choice and may be worth the small premium in price. Cat5e and Cat6a cables are both backward-compatible, which means newer Cat6a cables can be used with older Cat6, Cat5e, Cat5, and even Cat3 equipment.
